Who can we help?

State law generally restricts YIDA assistance to the following:

  • Existing  firms wanting to expand or modernize, or which want to hire more workers.
  • New construction projects involving industrial and commercial space, residential rental space, and affordable housing
  • Senior housing and senior care facilities.
  • Firms that are considering relocation out of the area
  • Health care

Is other help available?

The answer is yes. Even if the YIDA cannot provide direct assistance to your business, other Yonkers agencies may be able to help. Our Department of Planning and Development can provide information on other assistance the City can provide. In some cases even if the law restricts YIDA assistance, the City may be able to provide incentives via the use of a Local Development Corporation (LDC).
